DAY ONE: ARRIVAL IN VENICE

Free arrival at Venice. Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.

day two: venice

breakfast in hotel and meeting with the local guide for visiting venice.
A stroll from Piazza San Marco through the narrow streets of Venice, will bring you to Scala del Bovolo. A gondola ride lasting about 40 minutes through the picturesque canals and Gran Canal will end up at Chiesa of Frari.

lunch in the restaurant and afternoon boat tour leaving from san marco to visit the three most beautiful islands in the lagoon: murano, famous for the blown glass processing, burano with its colorful houses and laces, torcello, with its splendid romanesque cathedral, first one built in venice. return to starting.
In the evening hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.

DAY THREE : MARANO LAGOON - GRADO

Breakfast in hotel and excursion by bus to Marano Lagunare

the lagoon enclosed by the last bit along the lignano coast and grado lagoon, is an’ area of outstanding beauty which has a splendid natural scenery and unique flora and fauna of great naturalistic value. protected from the open sea by a series of islands and islets, like st. andrew, also known as the isle of shells, is characterized by swamp vegetation and the singularity of the temporary settlements of fishermen, the typical "huts" made of cane and wood construction, making the marano lagoon one of the most attractive adriatic sites. boarding and excursion on the river stella by ferry, visit of the nature reserve oasis of our region, and quick stop at the huts of the fishermen. lunch in a seafood restaurant and continuation to grado ( aquileia naval port in roman times ), is now a magical place for its nature,history and fine tradition of hot springs. arriving in town and free time for a walk in the historical center.

DAY FOUR: AQUILEIA - COLLIO

breakfast and departure for aquileia, central city of the roman empire. unesco world heritage site, holds in the basilica , one of the most extraordinary complex mosaic in the world.
meeting with the guide and visit the basilica and archaeological beauties of the town.
lunch at local restaurant and time dedicated to the "collio", renowned fine wine production area, that in 1968 has been recognized the controlled denomination of origin.
From the hills of San Floriano Oslavia and above those of Gorizia

it is a succession of rolling hills, small villages and vineyards.. Guided tour of a winery with tasting

DAY FIVE: TRIESTE

breakfast and departure for trieste.
upon arrival meeting with the local guide and sightseeing .the tour starts from piazza unità d'italy to the old "ghetto" area of the old synagogue, now the area of antique markets (third sunday of each month), galleries, and rigatterie junk. it continues to piazza cavana in the renovated old town of borgo giuseppino up to the gardens of the public library. on the way back by the seaside ,visit of the theresian village, , the ponterosso canal with traditional fishing boats that create a particular fascination with the neoclassical columns of the temple of saint anthony healer. final stop at the historic caffè san marco, where writers still spend part of their time writing their books.
lunch in the restaurant and the afternoon tour of the castle of miramare, built in the mid-nineteenth century by archduke ferdinand maximilian of habsburg to dwell together with wife charlotte of belgium, offers the unique testimony of a luxurious manor house preserved with its original interior furnishings.in the evening , hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.

DAY SIX:PORTOROSE -SLOVENIA

breakfast and departure for slovenia. arrival in portoroz and boarding for a panoramic tour of 'istria. portorož - "port of roses" - is known as a healthy resort since the 13th century, when the benedictine monastery of san lorenzo cured the various diseases with sea water and mud. today in portorož you can find elegant hotels, dining, shopping and sports centers.
piran is a pleasant and attractive town, situated between the sea and the ancient city walls..from church tower you can enjoy a magnificient view over the city: the small terraces, roofs and attics, with traditional firesplaces.
izola is a small and ancient fishing town, located on the peninsula, with its typical mediterranean architecture, narrow streets, where you can find excellent restaurants offering fish and quality local wines.
lunch in restaurant then off to the "collio slovenian", more precisely in dobrovo, a town where there is the eponymous and beautiful castle. visit of a local winery with tasting.
in the evening transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight.

DAY SEVEN: UDINE- SAN DANIELE DEL FRIULI

breakfast and departure for Udine.

upon arrival meeting with the guide and visit the historical center.
from liberty square, you can admire the castle of udine, lying on top of the castle hill, and from which you can admire the ancient fortification. continuing the walk you can reach piazza san giacomo and st. james church. (1398).
lunch in the restaurant and the afternoon departure to san daniele del friuli, famous town all around the world for its ham that bears her name.
quick tour of downtown featuring palaces and churches of great artistic and historical value such as the old town hall with the underlying lodge. after, knowledge of the various stages of processing meat, and a tasting ham.

DAY EIGHT: SPILIMBERGO

breakfast and departure for spilimbergo, the "city of the mosaic," where there is a famous school dedicated to this noble art. spilimbergo is a sliver of austria cast by history in the higher plains of friuli.. visit of the city center, and after, visit of the famous mosaic school, founded in 1922,which aims educational commitment, the unity between tradition and renewal, between actual production and cultural reality.
lunch in a restaurant, and in the afternoon departure for the "magredi" area, one of the last examples of such a vast ,steppe landscape., and certainly the last in northern italy

after a brief overview of the area, visit of a local farmhouse for a typical Friuli cooking course.
